A new Standard for Audits of Smaller Entities (SASE) was published for comment in July this year by the Nordic Federation of Public Accountants (NRF). If finalized, the standards will apply in Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finland and Denmark. Nicolaas van Wyk, CEO of the Southern African Institute of Business Accountants (SAIBA), said his organisation supports the creation of audit standards for smaller companies because it will present more opportunities for people who wish to enter the audit profession.
